I know this thread is pretty old, but just to let you folks know that might be slapping new tires on soon.. I'm currently running four 205 75 R14 Power King towmax tires and I'm having great luck with them! Right now I have around 1500-2000 miles on them and they have not skipped a beat. I keep them at 50 PSI. Keep in mind, I usually haul 75-80mph even in the hot weather Texas weather and they are still rolling with no issues.

Good to hear, just put a set of Power Kings on my trailer. Heading to Alabama for a week on Lake Jordan and did not want any tire trouble on the way.

Just keep them at 50 PSI and you'll be fine. So far so good with mine

Good deal man! These Power King tires seem to be doing great for most folks. They have a 5 star rating at NTB, and I don't think I've read anything bad about them yet.

I will be getting 4 of these for my boat within the week as well. Someone slashed my damn trailer tires so I figured to go ahead and get the bad [censored] ones

I say LT Tires. I run LT light truck tires on all my trailers, Horse, low boy, boat, smoker, and all others.
Trailer tires are all what has been discussed in this thread. Trailer tires are also rated at 65 mph MAX. If you plan to drive faster than 65 mph, you are going to blow out tires. Most all trailer tires are made in China. I have torn the fenders off of many a trailer. In my opinion most boat trailers are no where near being anywhere near the weight that will damage tire due to turning. Just my opinion.

False info there on trailer tires. Lots of radial trailer tires are rated for 81mph

I was going to get the Endurance tires, but ended finding CargoMax tires.. They are 205 75 R14, but they 8 ply/load range D/80mph speed rating.. So far so good!

And Scurry Joe,

Have to disagree.. I've towed 75mph constantly on hot summer black top interstates of Texas for a few hundred miles and never had a failure due to that.. Just gotta keep them aired up at 50PSI and they will be fine. That 65mph rating is if you have a full load on the tire. My boat weighs ~4000, each load range C tire is maxed at 1760lbs... So with all 4, there's plenty of wiggle room. My new load ranges D are rated I think 2,040lbs on each tire.

I stay away from trailer tires. All of the ST tires are made in China except the Maxxis which are made in the Philippines, a little better but not much.
LTs would be the first choice, then auto tires as their load rating is going to be greater than the weight of your rig.
Carlisle is the worst. They are so bad Discount Tire doesn't even sell them any longer.

Goodyear Endurance are made in the US, speed rating 'N' / 87 mph.

I have 19,000+ miles on 4, so far I like them.

Silly question but here goes. How long are trailer tires supposed to last? Had 4Maxxis 8008s for eight years, boat is kept inside building and noticed cracks in tread. I dont get to go out but maybe once a month so wear and tear definitely not the case. Kept them at 45 psi.

When I managed a tire shop and visited the bfg plant, they said after 6 years a tire stored in their climate controlled building is no longer good.. period.
