That 200EFI is absolutely bullet proof. Run premium fuel, Quickleen and Mercury premium oil, and even being 20 years old it will probably outlast all the Sho's and Pro XS's out there. I've actually wanted one of those smaller 18's with an old EFI. Great boat.

The Red Ranger has been in touch to inform me of his upcoming "Return to glory tour 2019". Please take good care of that engine because I want to witness this up close and personal.

IMO if you run your engines instead of them sitting at home you dont need anything , run it like you stole it , my engine is over 20 years old , I only put regular in it .

The Mercury guru on BassBoat Central (Don Weed) suggests/recommends 1oz of both QuikKleen and QuikCare per 5 gal of gas, each and every time you put gas in. Read up a little on it... With that guys knowledge of Mercs, thats what Ive gone to.

Just gas and go. Don't waste money on additives that don't do anything.

A ProXS likes a little diesel in the mix every now and then.

Run 87 octane from a high volume station and add Quickleen and QuickCare with every fill-up. No need to get fancy... Dan

This is what I have done with mine. If you over heat 1 time, your oil pump will fail shortly after. Plastic gears get very brittle with high temps. I premix and sea foam, but those flat spark plugs don't do well with sea foam. Lucky for me they are only 2 bucks each. Don't be buying up my stash of plugs either, stay south of Flower mound....
I know that 200 pretty well, I can help you out if you have any questions

I had a 99 518 with a 200 Optimax on it.
The 200 EFI is a great engine. I would invest in a cushioned seat and rainsuit if I had another.

Makes sure and keep plenty of fuel in it. It should run great for a very long time. Bullet proof as mentioned. The trade off is that it Likes the fuel!

I appreciate all of the suggestions.

Well, she spun a hub yesterday with basslikeme and I at Lew. We're gonna get there, though. Boat hasn't been started in like 4 years, so we're doing everything the right way. Got a good mechanic doing the job. I want RedRanger's name on every billboard and autographs out the wazoo will be free for the first year on tour. Kid's moms are already emailing him about when his first appearance will be. We will get there. Please be patient.
