I would like to start an Alvarado catfishing club. Had no idea there were so many catfisherman so close. As of yet I am not ready to set up a credit card account to sell bait. To tell the truth shipping is a pain and packaging is another sore spot. Even at $30. for 2 gallons I am losing a dollar a gallon due to shipping. Making good punch bait is an involved process and if I include labor along with cost of ingrediants at $12. a gallon I am not making much money. I am a full time machinist and make helicopter parts so spare time is at a premium. If you aren't interested enough to get a money order or come by the house then I can honestly say I don't really need to deal with you. I mean I could just go fishing and save myself the headache. Hoping not to sound mean spirited This bait catches fish as well or better than anything I have tried in the past. Work with me and you will see I'm right.

I'm still interested, if you can call me I may have several other people that may want to get in on this bait. I've got a couple of trips booked for choke on the weekend of the 19th, if we can work something out I'll try it out that weekend.
830-928-0064, Call me so I can get some money on it's way.

I would like to try some. You might conceder a small sample size amount that would be cheaper to ship(like a 1/2 pound bag/jar). Then if somebody really likes it they will be willing to fork out the shipping costs for lager amounts. As far as trying to get it in stores, stay with the small privately owned stores and bait shops. I have tried getting a product into a large nation wide store. You have to have a million plus in insurance and be able to supply massive amounts of your products. I found a neat web site where you can make a free or pretty cheap web site, 9k.com.
Any way let me know how to get a hold of your bait.

Just my 2 cents but don't package the stuff in glass containers. Use plastic containers and pack it in professional boxes.
Twenty years ago I ran a small computer company very near the entrance to Decker Lake in Travis country. Al at HogEye Bait House was selling a punch bait made in Tow. The UPS truck that delivered computer parts to my company was the same truck that delivered punch bait to Hogeye.
One day all my packages smelled like warm death and I asked the driver what was up. He said that if you think the packages smelled back I should smell the inside of his (un-airconditioned) truck.
A box of 1 gallon glass containers had somehow shattered then come unwrapped spilling maybe 12 gallons of bait all over the floor of the truck. Very nasty.
The outcome was that UPS classified the stuff as hazardous and stopped picking it up at the maker in Tow.

I own the URL punchbait.com (which is for sale) and sold DK on there for a while. The bait is very expensive to ship but you can make some money off of it. I had a web store that people could buy from that ran a system called OS Commerce. I was able to take credit card orders, PayPal, Money Orders, and checks and it also kept my inventory and figured shipping out for the address of the customer. It kept track of the customer data and allowed them to login and make orders any time. The easier it is for the customer the more orders you will get. If I can assist you let me know since I have been there and done that. I just didnt have the time for it any more.

I am going to try to get some stores to stock it around CC and RC. I need to get some smaller containers, make some labels and spend some time at area lakes actually selling. Shipping is the biggest hassle, I would rather personally deliver the punch bait to stores or individuals.

You asked for advice on how to market this stuff on here, and I respectfully gave some of my ideas. I understand you are not interested in setting up credit cards and shipping is a "pain". i was just respectfully giving my ideas. Telling people you really don't need to deal with them because of money orders and driving to you isn't a good way to promote a product. i was simply throwing out ideas that you asked for. Good Luck with your bait. I am sure it is good, but I will pass. Sure-shot works fine.

I'm sorry I came off a bit rudely. Working 10 hours and getting spring chores done so I could go fishing were really wearing me out. On the other hand fishing was very good. Couldn't just fish the shallos because there were too many little fish. Ended up fishing under bobbers in water 10 feet deep. Caught more than 40 keepers from 2 to 14 pounds mostly off points. I am really wore out now.
