A Tom Thumb card for cheap chicken is not a connection, but it is bargain hunting.

Well, for some folks that is all they can do as they could not hit the side of a barn if it was moving. The stock of my dad's 12 guage was too long for me to hold it up to my eye and aim. I just did the aim and shoot without the sight and shot two doves at a time at a friend pond in West Texas. Dad was proud because he did see me shoot them. Good times hunting and fishing. I'll never forget when he and my uncle were trying to call up a mountain lion that was in the area. Right when we started the vehicle, turned the lights on and were backing up, I saw the rear end and telltale tail with the dark fur on the end pass in front of the headlights. We had heard its cries, but they had not seen it in time to be able to shoot it. It was killing local livestock.

by your definition,a trip to picachos,el salto or comedero is catching instead of fishing....most of us fishermen or hunters have paid our dues with no fish/no shoot trips so we can really appreciate those dream trips to where the birds fly and the fish bite all day...

Dinner always tastes better when you kill it yourself.

Well kiss my naked ***, here we are again.

Yep, I murdered em by the thousands and left em laying to rot. Eagles, hawks and predators ate damn good.
Would go again in a heartbeat. Sierra Brava Lodge. You won’t be disappointed.

How many shells does it take for you to get two doves?
14, but then I'm just there for the beer.

I went with 5 other guys in 2016 and had a blast. After breakfast we hopped in to a van for a 15 min ride to the field, hunted until 11:30 backed to the lodge for lunch then napped till about 2:30. At 3:00 back in the van to the field, hunted til 5:30 or 6 and back to the lodge for a shower, snacks and beers and late dinner with wine and more wine. After dinner we shot the bull for awhile before bed. 4 nights 5 days, 8 - 1/2 day hunts later we shot 18,000 + rounds and killed 10,000 birds.

Excellent trip all around.
