I have a VA inspection in Joaquin, TX which is located on the far north end of Toledo Bend. I have never fished Toledo and decided to work and then fish for a couple of days. Any recommendations for ramps at the north end would be appreciated. Just looking forward for my first opportunity to fish this lake. Other than not running WOT all over I would also appreciate any suggestions for what NOT to do while on the lake.

Been awhile since I have been further north then Huxley, But Huxley area can be very good at times. Dan's Landing maybe closer to u. With the forecasted rain imagine the north end will be muddy after this weekend.

Toledo is really 3 lakes. Up there looks nothing like midlake and certainly not the south end. Water is usually stained to dirty up there. I've never fished above Huxley

Drive down to Huxley, idle to the river channel and drown shiners a foot off the bottom on the ledges. Bass will be tricky up north if you don't know the area. You will catch nice crappie, white bass and channel cats pretty easy, just move along the old stumps on the ledge and tie up or anchor when you find them. They usually come in spurts as they move along the channel.
