The lake I love the most in that area is Weiss Lake near Rome Ga., It's got fixed wooden docks, lots of structure and about a 50/50 mix of large mouth and spots. If your not used to targeting spots, it can be like re-learning how to bass fish all over again. If you fish tournaments on Carters Lake, Lanier, or Allatoona, them locals will put a whipping on ya!

Yeah it is definitely different here for sure. Been doing some deer hunting now but going to Carters lake next week if the weather cooperates.

I think you were moving about the same time we were. How did it go and how is the new home?

Yep and I personally will have to take stoopid on my turn, wished I could claim one of the others, it would look a little better but no excuses.

We are loving it! We've been knocking things off the list one at a time of upgrades we wanted to make but still have a few to go to make it exactly how we want. We'll have the kitchen cabinets stained (we did the master bath cabinets and would rather have some pros come in for the kitchen), new countertops in kitchen and master bath, upgrade floor in the kitchen area, a little more painting in the upstairs and so on. Our current project is knocking out a small linen closet in our bathroom and expanding the shower.

We also went from one small tree in our front yard at our last home to 1 pretty good size pecan tree in the front and 6 different trees in the back (one of which is a giant cottonwood). We love the shade but 75% of our backyard is dirt as a result. We got some trees trimmed and are now getting in plenty of sunlight to bring in some sod in the spring. That cottonwood starts shedding leaves in September it feels like and is finally about empty. So there is definitely a lot of raking involved but I'd say it's worth it.

Overall we are very happy with how everything turned out. It was definitely a good move for us and I can't wait until we get everything checked off the list. It will take a few years but we'll be there a while so it's all good!

We only moved about 1/2 mile and y'all moved half way across the country lol. How's GA treating you guys?

We are loving Georgia. We bought a brand new home that's out in the country. A few minor issues that the builder took care of. The move went really good. Everything arrived in one piece and on time. The two cars we shipped got here with no problems. Our house backs up to a conservation area that just full of deer, turkey and even a bear or two. Been feeding the deer since July and as of the other day we have counted 14 different bucks and a couple have really nice racks. Watched a doe and her two fawns grow up so that's been fun. Close to Lake Lanier and actually was out there last week. Water as clear as gin and some really big spotted bass. Overall the move was the best thing for us even though at the time we didn't feel that way. Left some good people in Texas that will visit and a couple people that I was glad I would never see again lol. Texas was good to us but so far Georgia is off to a great start. Wishing your family the best and a great holiday season. If your ever in Georgia look us up.

That's great. It can't really get much better than that by the sound of it, especially for an outdoor lover. It seems like you guys made the right move! It's crazy how everything always seems to work out for the better when you're going through a significant life event like a big move or whatever else it may be.

I would love to make a trip to that part of the country at some point. My in-laws take a 2 week long road trip every year for they anniversary and 2 out of 3 times, they make their way through that part of the country. I'll definitely give you a shout if I ever make it to y'alls neck of the woods!
