Just got back yesterday and had one of my better fishing outings there in a long time. Found a couple of pools where they we stacked up like five dozen minnows in a half filled minnow bucket. When my drift was right I got a bite every time. Lost more than I caught but it was worth the time it took to find the spots. Most water flowing there that I have seen in years, which is not much compare to the way it used to be.

I was just thinking about Ruidoso a few days ago. Taking a weeks vacation to New Mexico in late spring and was thinking I needed to make a stop in Ruidoso either on my way up or on my way back from northern NM.
What were you catching the most of? I've heard they have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the different trout species.

All I caught were stocker rainbows and cutthroats. Small but still fun.
