Got me some stage lights and 1000 watt bulbs for rollover pass this Sunday.

I know a 4-5" curly will get bit but what are some other lures/baits?

I usually fish West Bay under private pier lights. Below has worked for me.

1. gold spoon
2. H&H speck rigs
3. free line mullet or live shrimp

I have caught them on mirrolure mirrodine but not a fan of unhooking when it's dark out and action is hot and heavy.

No BEST LURE......too many variables

DOA makes a 2 inch shrimp, otherwise the 3 inch in glow.

Yeah... last year they made a run Sunday morning and everyone had their 5. Hoping they wait till Sunday evening this year.

Used to live on Clear Lake over the water and would fish under the lights every night from Nov to Feb. By far the #1 producer was a speck rig in white/yellow or white/pink. When they stop hitting that, break out a 51 series mirror-lure in chart/gold (remove the middle hook) and work it aggressively like a jerk bait for reaction strikes. If they don't hit it that way, count to three and pop it hard, count to three and pop it again....repeat. The doa shrimp will work but are hard to fish with if the current is strong or the wind is up.

IMO the trout in the lights aren't feeding on mullet/croaker/shrimp (they'll definitely still eat them) but I think they are feeding on glass minnows and other small fish in the lights so tandem rigging these small baits is great for just smacking em in the lights.

Light tackle, 3 ft 10lb fluro leader , and live shrimp on thin single hook.
