I started watching this series because I like Westerns and Old West movies, but this one was waaay out there, on re-examination,
I discovered this movie was made by Coen brothers ,it didn't make the stories anymore enjoyable but I could see where their
point of view was coming from.Jury is still out .Opinions ?

Their movies are definitely different, but I liked it.
Not one I'd buy on DVD to watch again, but it was entertaining.

my 2 cents ... great movie,1) the first "vignette" is a cartoon & I mean that in a good way, think along the lines of Bugs Bunny and its a perfect fit, 2) the next one may have one of the best lines ever uttered on a gallows "first time ?" 3) as oddball as the quadriplegic orator story is, you'll notice the 2 characters never speak to one another ,4) Tom Waits as the gold miner is pure gold, 5)crossing the Oregon Trail made for tough times & compromises and never get too far from the wagons, 6)the last one is the lest connected for me although I get that feeling of death for all the characters. overall excellent little stories, not the usual thing for sure but stellar acting throughout , music when used is uncompromisingly good, the Coens are proably the only ones capable of pulling this off & its one I'll watch several times as I have with "Oh Brother ...." and Raising Arizona.

Is this a series or just a long movie with 6 or 7 stories told within about a 2 hour movie?

I think it's just a movie

Screw this movie. Watch The Ballad of Cable Hogue instead. Great movie.

Laughed my [censored] off at the ending to the indian attack. The other stories were entertaining as well, but the final story ending was absolutely hilarious to me. Is that weird?

Wasn't what I expected. Almost quit it on the beginning. But stayed with it and actually enjoyed it.

It was enjoyable to see once, but not a movie I'd buy on DVD to keep and watch again.

It would have been much better if Buster would have lived more than 15 minutes. He was a good and funny character.

Pretty good shot too! cowboy

Yep, I actually liked the first series and what a surprise it turned into. Rest of the stories, meh.
