Catching numbers is absolutely crazy right now at Squaw Creek. So I�m going to do something different. MLF Style, Kinda.

Teams can weigh-in as many times as they want. We will have scales open from 7am till 2:30 pm. Teams may only possess 5 fish at any time. Once you have weighed in, fish must be put back in the lake before you go back out to fish. All bass must be 14� No dead fish will be weighed in. Winner will be determined by total heaviest weight.

Entry fee 100.00 (team or individual)
Side pot 20.00 (optional)

Marina: will be off limits from fishing during this event

Has anybody thought about the potential of effecting the fishery significantly?

I know a lot of guys are catching 50-70 keepers per day. If 25 boats fish There could easily be 1000+ Fish weighed in.
I really like the idea of it. It sounds fun as heck, but it might really hurt the fishery.

Hmmmmm. Good point. If guys are catching them deep and worried just throw them in the livewell and hurry to weight in to weight fish, there might be hundreds floating from not being fizzzzzed

I don't see the problem. Keeping fish in the livewell for a hour or so is a lot better than catching all your weight the first hour then having the fish ride around with you for 7 hours.

1 hour or 7 hours doesn't matter if you don't fizz them.

That fishery isn't lacking for numbers, I'm gonna start eating a bunch of them.

I have fished that lake for going on 4 years now and almost ever tournament I see trophy fish floating. Now that being said I have seen it all over. Most trails have gotten better at fizzing the fish before they go back all it takes is for people to know how todo it plenty of videos out there. If there are people on the dock doing the weigh in they can watch for floaters retrieve them fizz them and release agin.

Man. Is there gonna be a PETA protest at the gates in the morning? I wish I could make it Darryl. Hope you get a good turn out.

For those that have concerns about fish care. I am the one conducting the weigh-in and I am trained in fizzing fish. Fish care for this event will be in full force. Thanks for the concerns.

Wish I was fishing this today and not working! Like to see how this turns out... great idea in my opinion and something different out there.

When we left someone had weighed 6 times for 79lbs.

Saw on FB that it took almost 105lbs to win

I�m glad it went well for sure. Decent draw and solid payout. If you do it again, expect the weights to be way down. The amount of those super fat, heavy, squaw Creek special fish is way down since last week. Shows in the weights from the tournaments this last weekend. Granted, there were 100 boats on Saturday, but I was out there Friday with 35 other boats and it was downright tough to catch keepers. Lots of little ones, but very few fish over 2lbs. We still caught close to 70, but the quality disappeared.
