Fish 10XDs for a few months as resistance training instead of the gym. This is how you get the gainz.

As many others, who weren't chastising the guys for the question responded, the setup will help a ton. I use a Dobyns Sierra series 735C with 65# braid and it makes it a lot easier on everything. The more powerful rod and braid makes ripping it out of the grass take a lot less effort.

Lots of Ex-Navy Seals on here these days. I'm with Chris G on this. The setup helps tremendously. However I will tell you this. Ever since I hit my late-40's it takes longer to bounce back from a long hard day on the water than it used to.

I'd go cast a 16+ oz. muskie bait all day for a few days, go back to the 1/2 oz. trap in the grass and you'll not even think there is anything on the end of your line.

Longer rod and lower gear ratio helps I would hate a low gear ratio reel for trappin'. I want to pick up as much line with as few cranks as I can, personally.

Tendinitis sucks. I developed it one summer driving t posts and fishing frogs. It never goes away either. It seems to go dormant and then will come back if I do some repetitive motion like that again. Ibuprofen helps but if I fish a frog for a while I have to put it down and pick up a jig or something periodically. Yup get the straps that you can put on your forearm right below ur elbow. I have struggled with the tendinitis on and off for 3 years and the strap style tennis brace has really eliminated it for me most of the time. Flipping a big weight is the worst by far for me ripping a trad doesn't seem to affect it to much, but I really don't like ripping a trap.
