Creek,

I cast left handed, wear it out and then cast right handed, wear it out and then use both hands. That gets me thru the day.
Hope this helps.

Yes, throwing a lipless crank bait can be very tiring. The absolute worse for me is throwing a jerk bait for a long period of time. My wrists get worn out.

Be safe,

I am enjoying the replys. I do feel like I used the wrong word in the title "fatigued". For those athletes, strength and life coaches, as well as yoga instructors out there, I did not mean I was "winded" from fishing a trap. What I was eluding to is more of arm pain from tendinitis. So just to clear things up. No I am not a pusssy. Yes I go to the gym 5 days a week. I can still lift a lot of weight. Yes I can run mile in just about 6.5 minutes. But, my wrist and elbows feel like I just pitched a 16 inning game (and hurt!!!) whenever I am searching with a trap.

So with that said. For the guys with "no issues" what set ups are you using?

For others. Do you know of any way to combat the tendon pain in wrist and elbow?

Also, for Champion 01... I love Angler Pro Tackle. Want to make a little wager on arm wrestling at Rick's store? I will let you choose which arm, and in the other I will eat potato chips. Winner gets to spend pick up some baits from APT... Deal? I can be there at 5 Tuesday.

Well the exercises have nothing to do with strength. They lean toward relief of the arm pain from tendinitis; along with wearing the compression band on the forearm.

These are simple exercises done with the progressive bands that are color coded for different strengths and are sold in most sporting good stores. Comes usually in a box of 5 stretch bands.
There are many exercises that you can do; you will pick those shown in the instructions for the Elbow and Forearm.
This will take 5 minutes 3 times per day until the problem stops reoccurring. The exercises should only be started after the arm has had a couple of weeks of down time and healing has taken place along with you pain management doctor's therapy.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Tendinitis sucks. I developed it one summer driving t posts and fishing frogs. It never goes away either. It seems to go dormant and then will come back if I do some repetitive motion like that again. Ibuprofen helps but if I fish a frog for a while I have to put it down and pick up a jig or something periodically.

You know whats funny to me? Guys like you that think they know what theyre talking abou brother! The gym has nothing to do with what this guy is asking. You dont work the same muscles in the gym youll use when fishing, unless youre in the gym practicing casting using a machine, which no one does. I was a personal trainer for years, trained many collegiate athletes who turned pro.

Ask the pros how much gym time they get in. You see any of them extremely fit and rocked up? Ask a pro football player what it feels like the day after playing in a charity softball game. Youre clueless on this topic.

To the OP, best way to achieve what youre looking for is to literally throw crankbaits more often. Once youve done it long enough there will come a day you find you arent sore any longer.

Funny to me how some of yall know everything about people you have never met. Bet you were a stud football player in highschool(thousands of us were) and a stud player in college(hundreds of us were). After 31 years(and counting) as a professional firefighter I have spent countless hours in gyms. Some during some pretty intense gym rat periods in my life but always on an above average maintainence schedule to stay on top of my chosen occupation(no I could not get anyone to pay me to play football professionally:-(). It was often during some of my intense training periods(yes possibly a little overtraining) that I even experienced slight discomfort(pain) simply from a busy weekend(couple days anytime) fishing. Sore back from standing/fishing for days, sore shoulder heaving deep divers or heavy C-rigs all weekend, strained elbow ripping rattletraps several days in a row..... Point is the OP may need some gym
time to assist him getting some flexibility and shape back....or he may be in great gym condition and simply need to build up some seat time/real life stamina in the area he has discomfort like ripping rattletraps! Put away your ego. I dont know you but if life hasnt taken away your glory years yet it will and doubt you have the tools to make that simply a transformation in life(listen to Bruce Springsteens Glory Days). Back to the OP: some very good (and POSITIVE) advise given by above by posters^^^^^^. Try some flexibility gym time if this is lacking otherwise ease into the full days of cold weather ripping red rattletraps by getting some piliminary similar action(exercise) prior. Little lake in my back yard(Squaw) that is ripe right now for going and throwing faster moving baits(buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, rattletraps, squarebills, crankbaits.....covering lots of water fast! wink Good Luck!

I remember years ago someone came out with a battery operated device that you could hook to your reel and it would wind it in for you.
