Is honey hole still going haven’t seen anything about it? Yes. You just have to either pay $10 a month to get episodes as they are shot or pay $20 for an entire season worth after filming is complete. You can also buy lake bundles. http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/12950853/Re:_Rocky_Ridge_joins_Honey_Ho#Post12950853

Promising move. You don't have a legitimate professional league if your professionals have to pay massive entry fees to participate, in my opinion. I hope they figure out how to sustain this model.
I also would not pay a cent to watch a fishing competition streaming online, live on television, or whatever, and I love competitive fishing as much as anyone.

With that said, and now this is going to be a so called "true Professional" league. How do people qualify each year coming up? Is it always going to be invite? I just ask because MLF left some high quality anglers off their invite list, and invited some guys that haven't done anything in years.

I just ask because MLF left some high quality anglers off their invite list, and invited some guys that haven't done anything in years. They kept the original 24(?) anglers from MLF which is how guys like Kelly Jordan got in. Aside from that, they weren't ever going to get a true "top 80" as guys like Scott Martin and Brian Thrift weren't going to leave FLW until this proves out more. Their sponsors are just too invested. My understanding is that the next three seasons will be the same anglers and after three seasons, new anglers will come in that qualified through the lower level MLF series.

May also have to do with the fact that KJ is one of the original owners of MLF and was instrumental in creating the trail.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Not just Kelly Fouz. There's a bunch of guys that got invited that I thought actually needed to even "re-qualify" for the Elites.
Kelly's from Fork and still one of my favorite anglers because of that. But sometimes you gotta back up and find yourself again go back in full throttle.
We will see how it plays out.

I feel like the MLF group is a group of guys just trying to make as much money as they can with little regard to the future. I see this as a perfect example because the entry fees could have served as a safety net incase there was a slow start and the sponsor revenue did not work out and you know there will be growing pain. In the end, I hope it all works out because there are a bunch of good guys risking it all here.

In the end, I hope it all works out because there are a bunch of good guys risking it all here. my take on it is that MLF has a bright future especially with the growth we are seeing in high school and college tournament fishing...also it appears that the fishermen have some leaders (with the blessing of Johnny Morris and Stan Kroenke)) who have seen the demand for television programing and decided to control the advertising and venue income as an employee owned venture modeled after the PGA rather rather than the previous model in which the owners of FLW and B.A.S.S. controlled the profits and pay-offs...

May also have to do with the fact that KJ is one of the original owners of MLF and was instrumental in creating the trail. Oh ok, didn't know he was an owner. That might ultimately be the biggest negative for the BPT is that owners are competing. Several of the anglers that opted not to join cited that as one of the main reasons. I don't know KJ but have met him several times and he's an awesome guy. Would love to see the Texan competing at a high level again...it's been too long.

I could care less and dont know anything of the mysterious workings of the business of professional bass fishing. I'm going on record as predicting a massive failure and an overall cluster F across the board. There are probably 30 people in the world who actually make a living "professional bass fishing" the rest are trust fund babys, made their money doing something else, are married to doctors, or are just flat broke and too silly to realize what they are doing is basically nonsense if supporting a family is the goal. That's where I come down on this and this opinion is purely that. I'm sure an expert in the field will show up to dispute this and point out all the brilliant success stories. Wow
