We get the net out on every fish hooked and then communicate on the fish size and what we are going to do. There are times that it looks like the Three Stooges go fishing, but if a good fish gets in the boat, we're happy. Had a good fish on at Tawakoni a couple weeks ago and my partner had the net ready. We both realized as I started to bring the fish in that it was about a 4 pound grinnel. He's yelling No No No! I dropped the rod tip and got that nasty beast unhooked in the water.

I do net even have a not.

Better question...why would you not use a net during a tournament???

I always have it out. During a tournament, Depends when I use it... treble hooked keepers get netted until I have a good bag and know the fish won�t help me. Flipping mostly use the net over 3 pounds because I don�t want a lot of dead weight hanging on my knot and line.

Practice or fun fishing I may have it out but won�t use it unless it�s a really big one.

It�s always fun to hear the guys that refuse to use a net but after the tournament they always claim that a plus got off at the boat. They still say nets are for losers! Irony

Nets are for weenies. What�s next? A 4� diameter net, or a 10� net?

I think all tourneys should ban nets.

My tournament partner used to scream "GET THE NET!" like he had a double digit fish every time he set the hook. I quit going for the net after he kept pulling up 12 inch fish. I told him if he kept doing that [censored] he was gonna have to swim back to the ramp. I look and see how far over his rod is bent before I put my rod down now!

So do you pretend you are fishing the Classic when you are fishing your 2-3 boat tournaments?
