Deciding between a new Tahoe ( owned my old one for 14 years) and just popped in and looked at the new Armadas. Anyone pulled a 20 footer with one?

I pull mine with a New Titan (Same drive train as the Armada I think). Best truck I have pulled a boat with. Worst gas mileage.

The Armada of ours went out at 81,000 ... Both catalytic converters went out. The front took the back one out and screwed the engine up. $5000 to get fixed and it never ran the same. It's is a problem they have with them. I will not get another one. My wife went back to ford. The wrranty went out at 80,000 miles.

I pulled my FX21 with my wifes Aranda same as five bites and again, it drank the gas. It pulls fine but winds out the motor at a high RPM. Not a good choice in my opinion to pull a bass boat. I will say I have my wifes car up to 130 miles an hour and it still had more but it got a little loose. So if youre late to your bass tournament, on a regular basis, it might be the right fit for you . 🙂

Huh? I've been pulling a boat first with a 2004 Titan and now a 2015 Titan. Never ran the revs up. Did you have it in drive? 70-75mph its around 2000 rpm.

I buy a new tow vehicle every two years so over the past 30 years I have owned more than my share. I drove a new Armada and it will run off & hide from my Suburban but I hear the same thing about the 5.6 Nissan motor. Poor gas mileage.

I bought a new 4WD Toyota Sequoia in 2009 and it was incredibly strong. Loved the power.
The fuel mileage calculator after 80K miles was siting on 13.8 mpg as an average. My Chevy Suburban 4WD under the same scenario was sitting on 17.6 mpg after the same 80K miles.

My new Tahoe will be here in two weeks. thumb

If you tow long distances, get the longer wheel base for a smoother ride. Gas mileage is irrelevant.

The weight of a gallon of gas is a little over 6 pounds.

Most boats (big boats) hold anywhere from 42 gallons to 52 gallons of gas. Tow vehicle is an average of 26 gallons.

Do the math and tell me gas mileage doesn't matter. Especially when your towing that kind of weight.

Also why go from a Silverado to a Tahoe?

Drove a Tahoe for 14 years. Thought I'd like the truck, but have to throw stuff in the back (golf clubs, etc) unprotected...OR...buy a cover...OR just go back with what I really like. Also a $20,000 price difference put me on the truck to save some $$$. Love the new Tahoe's regardless of price.
