I think the bigger problem is that they are afraid to tell these kids that life is a competition. We waste so much money trying to make everything "equal" and adding special programs to mask how poorly equipped these kids are for the real world. They wait until they get passed on along through graduation before they realize that a career isn't just waiting there for them.

Have her take the AP classes of which most are college concurrent and then go the Junior College route to get her Associates, best way to save $$ before the bigger expenses of a full university.
Worked very well for both of my kids.

Lots of scholarship money out there goes unclaimed. Have her apply for EVERYTHING.


What is her rank in her class ? Has she applied for National Merit Scholarship ?

These programs are stupid.

There is never an upside to disincentivizing success. And discrimination against whites and males is not a path towards equality either.

Pick the ones who have earned it through their hard work and let the rest stay in traditional high school. I don't like any kind of lottery process. That's not how life works. You get jobs, raises, other jobs, etc. based on your performance. They don't take all qualified candidates and draw names.

Of course, since it's the field of education, they're allowed to be stupid and then call you names for telling them that they're idiots.

Anyone in America's public education system is under-served.

Maybe just exclude private schoolers and home schoolers if that's the mission statement.

Texas Property taxes are even worse. You get used to getting screwed and when they screw you more you just have to sit back and take it.
