still currently 3 ft. low even after all this rain. Fishing has been decent in backs of creeks

Personally I would avoid the really muddy areas after rains like these. Also big rains tend to group up the smallmouth on the points and big rocks near the mouth of the river. Not sure why other than maybe current draws them up there.
To me this time of year in somewhat unstable weather the bite gets really good.

If you can find them they should be really bunched up with the temps dropping too.
