As I totally have no idea-
Do you need any other license to fish Falcon or Amistad besides a Texas freshwater fishing one?? If I go down there I plan to launch from a Texas boat ramp and fish around that area or use the GPS on my graphs to "stay" on the U.S. side.

Also "who" can stop you to check your boat for a license besides the U.S. game wardens? Like if I'm on the U.S. side can I get approached by someone from the Mexican side who claims to be a wildlife/fisheries official??

Thanks for any info!

Total number of fishermen who have lost their lives fishing Falcon = zero(if you don't count the summer heat strokes). Life on the edge......

Not if you don't fish Mexican waters.

Mexican fishing license. It's $60 a year I believe. Probably a good idea to get one just in case

Tough to avoid entering Mexico right now on Falcon, with it being so narrow up north.

I am sorry if my statement came across as ambiguous.

The shots were fired adjacent/beside the shooters boat..

Why do you want to confuse the issue with facts?

$60 sounds like a lot. In fact....that's about the most expensive thing I've ever heard about Mexico. You can buy a house there for $100! Haha.

I've read this thread 3 time just to make sure my mind wasnt playing games with me. The stupid and childish comments are a joke. We have many long time members on here that have 1st hand experience about Falcon. Yet some want to believe just plain ignorant post. It's so easy to ask for help on here. Yet people with 5, 10 or 300 post want to chime in yet have no first hand knowledge. Choose your allies wisely on here. It will benefit you greatly. Make stupid and harmful comments and you will be on an island alone. As far as Falcon is concerned. In my time I've heard of 1 death. I believe it was on a jet ski. And that story has never been 100% verified. Falcon is a pretty easy lake to fish and stay out of trouble on. How,just dont fo anything stupid. If you have questions and want legitimate answers. Talk to Jame's first hand. Or talk to the guides that not only live there. But fish Falcon everyday for a living.

Documented by whom, odds are they had a hit on that guy since he lived across the border prior to moving to Colorado.

The story has more holes in it than Swiss cheese does.

Well documented publicly. No one has EVER corroborated the claims of Sigi or the blonde (Tiffany?). Many can refute them, with hard evidence, but ending up calcined and dumped in a hole with your smashed and burned jetski doesn't appeal to most. Don't ask how I might know these things. Belive them or not.

Once again, listen to the folks who live in Zapata and south. Especially those who have a vested business interest. Those folks suffer most from media like this. If it's BS, they'll let you know. If something is amiss, you'll hear the truth from them.

If business owners in Zapata say stay the heck out of Mexico, PLEASE listen to them. Plenty of fish in Texas. And, like most of these turf wars, it won't last too long. Go fishing. It's a wonderful time of year in far S Texas.
