Athens, Hollbrook, Quitman, Winnesboro, and Hawkins can all be fun in the fall depending on the weather. I will say however if you are bringing you own boat and have never been on most of the east Texas lakes be aware many of them are filled with trees. If you don't know where you are running you can get into real trouble and cause some real damage. Farther east is Lake of the Pines which can also produce some very large stringers in the fall. Most of the lakes mentioned on this tread all can produce if the weather cooperates. September has had record setting rainfall and if it continues you may want to check lake levels as some of the lake will flood and close ramps.
