When I have a plate of food I eat the first thing infront of me then turn the plate counterclockwise to the next item and so on until I finish. Drives my wife nuts. Maybe that's why I do it.

I don't know about the turning part, but I used to work with an IV Tech that would eat one thing on the plate at a time. For those that wonder , she was hot , but no pictures, MO

My brother would be very meticulous about filling his plate. Everything had to remain separated; meat, potatoes, veggies could not touch each other. Then he would only eat one thing at a time. Once he finished one, he would go to the next. In contrast, I'd pile everything up on top of each other and mix it all together.

My daughter is like your brother, I eat like you, makes my wife and daughter want to gag.

I'm about 50% like Fishingking except I probably don't care about which direction I rotate the plate. I'm 100% like COFF's brother in the separation on the plates. Yes I know it all goes in the same place and all comes out looking the same. I guess that's why we call it a quirk and will admit it doesn't really make rational sense other than the way it tastes when you're chewing it up. The piling all together and mixing it all up for me is a no go zone. Only works partially for me with mashed potatoes and gravy only and I like to keep even that segregated from the other individual piles on my plate. It actually does gross me out a little when stuff like cream corn runs all over into my green beans. Maybe that's why I don't much care for cream corn. Hard to keep that mess in it's on pile!
