I like the 3.5. Also the LFT Swim’n Slug works really well.

Get some zakos and flukes work good too. Almost any plastic will work just have to experiment and see what you like. Also you can take the skirt off and put a swim bait on there and that can be killer too.

I use rage craw on swim jigs. Should be good on bladed jigs as well.

3/8 oz or 1/2 oz with the Zako trailer?

3/8 is fishing shallow. 1/2 if you want the bait 5-10 ft down. I like both

I threw both this weekend and the Jackhammer was the only one I caught fish with. Not sure why but I can tell they have a different vibration when reeling them in. I don't like the price but they work.

In all honesty, 1/2oz is smallest I'd use. I actually prefer the 3/4oz. Vibrating jigs have a tendency to rise on the retrieve. The heavier it is, the better it'll stay down in the strike zone longer.

Have you ever thrown a jackhammer? They stay down better but yes most chatterbaits style baits rise

I liked those much better than the original Chatterbaits. thumb

I panicked when I read on here that they were being discontinued. Ending up buying all I could from a store in Arizona.

They still have those at Tackle Warehouse. They have a new pro model and the old one.

You can still get the phenix, you just have to put the blade on yourself.

Yes, for a long time. The Jackhammer still rises, just not as bad as others.

I hung into a 5 lb. hybrid striper today using a jackhammer and the poor jackhammer didn't survive. The thin wire line tie was bent so bad it couldn't be used again and the blade was bent all out of shape. Not sure the regular chatterbait would have faired any better.
