Being old fart and tournament fisherman I prefer the five largest . The one pound fish is hard for me to get excited about.

Much closer than I'd thought it would be.

People want to see fish being caught. I assume MLF plans to expand its audience well beyond hardcore anglers and tourney participants.. the normal joes probably would rather see 20 small fish be caught than a guy who catches 5. Hard to make a tv show with a lot of dead time.

MLF style 5 fish is my vote Im not sure what the need is to transport to Fish for weigh in. Maybe they could just do that on final day for the fans and that way its for intense???

I voted for the 5 fish limit due to watching some one catch 10 dinks at a pound each. I could live with out a lot of the emcee's tring to be funny along as said all the nick names and so and on. I like watching BASS and FLW and really could care less about the MLF. Now if the MLF will change up some on sizes of fish and so on then watching the MLF may interest me as watching the officials give the fisherman a heads up on where they stand and watch the reactions of the fisherman. I think the live show during a tournament is awesome because you get to see more and how they do things. And the emcee's either make the show or they ruin it by all the clowning around like what has been going on in Bass. Some times Bass get's to be a circus from clowning around which FLW seems not do that at all. It will be interesting on how all this goes down and hope it does well of course but time will tell.

I prefer the MLF to traditional. For the guys saying they dont like the dink fest I get it but I think that has more to do with the fishery. The BASS on the Sabine is not exactly a lunker hunt. MLF should schedule good fisheries if they want to really increase interest in their product and maybe increase what is considered a scorable fish.

I think Jake Shannon (Skeet4life) has the right idea for the MLF and if they were to follow that idea then I think that would make it even better to watch.

Five fish and they need to be brought to the scales so that everyone's fish are weighed on the same instrument. When you are not only rounding the weights of 10-20 fish to the nearest ounce but also weighing them on different scales...

An example of a semi hybrid between the MLF and traditional has been the TTBCmy favorite BASS event to watch on TV

MLF
Call me crazy, but if a guy can find a couple of schools and put 25 fish in the boat in 1 hour or less, I am still impressed. I wonder if some of the difference of opinions has to do wth which lake we fish. If you fish a lake known for numbers, you are less likely to be impressed with MLF format. I don't fish a numbers lake, 10 fish is a great day, but I expect bigger fish
The 5 fish tournaments don't show enough fishing, They also show the same catch 5 times, maybe even more.

Used to like Bassmasters before they tried to get cute with the goofy Emcees and commentators and stopped showing as much fishing. I like MLF because there is no silly weigh in, it is all fishing. IMO they could cut out most if not all of Marty Stone, the other dude, and the ladies commentary and it would be even better. I don't care if they catch small fish, they pull up on a lake they have not spent much time or any time on and figure out how to get bites in short order. You get to see the process(what it takes to locate and catch the fish they are on) not just the weigh in result (like BASS and FLW) with a few short clips of limit fish being landed.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Unless i'm just dense, what part of MLF would remain if you went "MLF but best 5?" Just the part where they weigh the fish right away and put it back in the water?

There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

78% here prefer MLF. That's why it is the #1 rated show for the 1st quarter on the Outdoor Channel. Three years in a row!
