I was running dual 12 HDS units at the console and one on the bow but Im rigging up my new boat and think I will do a dual HDS and Bird at each location. Just trying to determine what to do on the bird at the bow, not really wanting to spend the bucks for a SI unit and I probably will not use it for anything other than mapping and finding waypoints that I mark at the console from side scan.
So Im leaning towards:
Console
HDS 12 running DI, map and 2d sonar
Helix 12 running map and MEGA SI

Bow
HDS 12 running DI, map and 2d sonar
Helix 10 running map but hooked to the Ultrex US2 transducer in case I ever have trouble with the HDI transducer on the Lowrance

Should be a pretty solid setup giving me the best of both worlds.

I have identical Lowrance's on the console and on bow, that communicate with each other; added a Humminbird SI to console.

I have two 9" HDS G3 units at the console and a Helix 12 G2N with 360 for the bow. For me it's a great setup being able to see whats around me. 360 excels at showing spawn beds and other such small irregularities that my SI doesn't see.
