Man Gig'em I normally like your posts but this is either a world class attempt to troll or you are just being sarcastic. Because if you are serious then I guess Major League Fishing results all don't count as well because I know they have fished some slot lakes. Plus I HATE trying to find unders in the tournaments I fish there. It seems like every tourney we catch nothing but good healthy 5-9# slots and get nothing for it.

Not trolling Chris I assure you, and not trying to discredit the pro's either. Just stating a fact, normal tournaments on Fork will not allow you to weigh slot fish and Fork is loaded with slot fish some weighing over 10 lbs. Just saying, if they fished regular Lake Fork tournament rules the weights would be nowhere near what's been posted but then the weigh in wouldn't be that exciting either would it. My comments are my own and if you don't agree that is your right but that's doesn't make mine wrong.

Did I miss it or did they not say where the weigh in and expo will be held? I went this year on Lake Travis and had a blast. Plan on being at this one too.

Fish Killer " No body would show up to watch them weigh in 8 lbs...".

My point exactly but the place is packed when Bass Champs shows up.

Those are people actually fishing Basschamps and a bunch of the old geezers that live around the lake with nothing better to do... nobody is getting fired up and driving 120 miles to catch the North Division weigh in.

With that format Fork is the best lake in the country for this tournament. It's a break from a normal event and guys get to blast some toads. It's a win win

Interesting take but that's your prerogative. Sure wish someone would organize a big MLF format fishing tournament out there to see what locals would do. I was thinking about doing a $1,000 entry one on Monti but with the lower water levels have postponed that though process. Maybe I can share the idea and plan I had with someone else and they can pull it together. I would imagine I could get at least 100 teams at that price for an MLF style tourney.

I expect there will be record numbers of spectators. Prop and fiberglass shop should do well in the days after the tourney.
I'd like to find someone with a pontoon boat that we could sell burgers and drinks off of out on the water. We could get rich.......

I can hear the pro's complaining already that the lake is too small for 110 guys. There is 110 guides on Fork. I bet the week of Texas Fest will be the least fishing pressure Fork see's out of any weekend in Spring.

First weekend in May...still be packed. Folks won't quit fishing because of a tournament.

Will be a mad dash to the points since that should be the heart of the shad spawn. The last one was at the tail end of the shad spawn and all those fish were on the banks the week before and had just moved out deep for the most part. Just need clear water versus the cholate milk it’s been last two years and will see giant weights on top waters and shallow swim baits.

Sounds like fun to me, all the lake business establishments should appreciate the business.
