Anyone have experience fishing at Lake Mineral Wells? I've only been pier fishing there. This weekend we plan on renting a small aluminum boat with a trolling motor to do some fishing. Any tips, tricks, or suggestions?
Unfortunately the rental times are between 9AM - 7PM so no dusk or dawn fishing...
We have the boat for 4 hours.
I've read that Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Catfish are in abundance at this lake.
I really want to try and catch some crappie there.

Can't provide much help as I've never fished it, the below is from the TPWD website-
TPWD installed "crappie condos" in 2015 with funding from the largemouth bass conservation license plate. These structures can be found near the fishing piers. Anglers may also find submerged brush piles along the dam, isolated submerged brush piles, water willow and submerged boulders along the shoreline, and some standing timber in the upper end. If you can locate the opening to Rippy Branch in the upper end of the lake, you will find some good deep holes for bass and catfish. The entire stretch of the stream is shaded by overhanging tree limbs. You might even be treated to a deer swimming across the branch.

The point directly across the lake from the marina is a crappie honey hole. Also, the area to the right of the marina is good.
. Seventy five years of chasing the elusive sunfish.

I read a few points across their website about fishing here but did not see this. Very helpful! The point directly across the lake from the marina is a crappie honey hole. Also, the area to the right of the marina is good. Thanks! This is exactly what I'm looking for! I'll let you all know how it goes. As far as time of day to fish, what would be best? My window for the boat is 9AM to 7PM.

Fish as early as you can. The best bite is at daybreak. Nine AM will be when the bite is tapering off.
