I agree, once you get them open. You can take a bigger swig. Another advantage is you can put the lid back on when you're getting a bite. I don't know how many beers I kicked over back in the old days when I stood up to land a fish.

I hate opening them. Some of the lids are screwed on so tight you have to use channel locks. Another problem arises when you're fishing for catfish and have stinkbait on your hands.


The easy way to open them is to grasp the lid in one hand and the can in the other, and...turn the can, not the lid.
You get more torque this way.
