It's less about the news media (Hannity and Limbaugh are not news media) and more about what is objective reality or fact. Many people refuse to accept an objective reality or set of facts.

The "both sides do it" line is hogwash. You don't see Dems, liberals, progressives, or whatever believing in QAnon, Pizzagate, Jade Helm is a practice takeover, stating Nazis are good people, etc.

I�m absolutely not talking about Hannity or Rush. Fake news is journalists, not opinionators.

Fake news started with so-called journalists misrepresenting facts, leaving facts out, not covering stories, sketchy editing and other BS. Reporting doesn�t (meaning: it shouldn�t) have a slant or bias. Those lines have blurred over the last few decades. The �news� has had a liberal bias, or slant, my entire lifetime, save for a few real newsmen and women.

I would know. I used to be in the news business.

You�re right, I don�t see the left running with that. I also don�t see the right running with it. I see a very small, but vocal far-right or alt-right population running with that. Nice deflection, though. Who cares? You�d think that the alt-right is today�s Republican Party because of the way the mainstream media covers it. I can assure you, it�s not the case. The TEA Party was treated extremely unfairly by the media for another example.

On the far left, I see similarly odd and ridiculous tactics. What�s more telling, since you want to get hyper partisan and silly, is otherwise-normal people on the left have apparently lost their minds since the election. People who I respected as media personalities, actors or musicians, but I disagreed with on politics, have lost any and all semblance of rationale and ability to carry on a mature discussion. Some of the things they have started doing:

1) anyone who disagrees with someone on the left is racist/misogynistic/sexist/whatever simple because they disagree. �The only reason you�re disagreeing with me is because I�m a woman (or black, or gay, etc.� You should be embarrassed by this, TG.
2) everyone on the right is a fascist
3) right-leaning speakers aren�t allowed on college campuses anymore, or if they do get on, they get protested to death, have to hire security, deal with petulant children masquerading as college students disrupting their speeches, etc.
4) anyone wearing a MAGA hat or shirt is racist and it�s OK to physically assault them or breathe them on the street.
5) they�re now saying that the election process we�ve had since the beginning is unfair, or, even worse, they�re making it seem like the election was stolen (without Russian interference, but that�s a whole different topic).

But, a lot of people on the left have been saying the Russians �hacked� the election with zero evidence. Not the far left, either. Just the slightly left of center. That�s not the equivalent of pizzagate or Q? A lot of people said Trump was going to round up all of the gays and put them in camps. A lot of people have said that Trump�s SC picks are going to erase Roe v Wade.

There is plenty of hysteria on your side of the fence.

Jim Acosta and CNN have proven how bad the media is over the last several months. He is happy to make the story about himself and disrupt the rest of the press briefings. He is the embodiment of what is wrong with the press today.

The press at large isn�t the enemy, but there are enough of the bad apples to make it clear that they need to get their collective act together. They ruined it themselves and people realize how bad it�s been for years.

What mainstream media reporter (not Hannity, not Rush) was reporting as fact that Jade Helm was a practice takeover or that Pizza Gate was real or that Qanon is real? Actual reporter, not talkinghead, that is not reporting in other people trying to make it a story, please. Did Bret Baier spend a lot of time on Q or Pizzagate? Or Jadehelm itself?

Reporting that small but vocal subsections of a political party are raising hell about a conspiracy is not the same as reporting the conspiracy.

In fact, spending time on clowns like Milo and others pushing that BS in order to make it seem like it�s mainstream republicans who believe it is a perfect example of Fake News.
