I agree although sometimes it has to do with supply and demand.

Walmart does the same thing and since I live close to the #1 ranked Bass Lake in the US our Walmart and Academy doesn't see inventory sit there and collect dust. Well at least not a lot of it if it is geared to bass fishing.

I have seen people say they found XYZ at their Academy and I looked online and found them for the same price even when our store had prices like you mentioned.

That was not the case here though.

I went to 4 different Academies and the prices were all original. All I could tell was all of the ones had a new barcode sticker over the original. Perhaps they did a price update and y�all found some that didn�t get the update.

Nope... I don't try to "cheat" a store if that's what you're inferring. The only ones that rang up highly discounted at the store in Lewisville were the 6'6" MH/MF Bucoos. The 7 footers were regular price. Perhaps they are getting rid of the shorter rods since it seems everyone likes 7 foot + these days. The Ducketts were marked down on the rods themselves. I got lucky the day I was there. There was some youth league handing out 20% off coupons for everything in the store that day except for a very few items like guns, etc. Anyway, I got two 6'6" Bucoos Med Hvy, Med flex for $39.20 + tax. $85.00 for two of them out the door! SWEET. Rigged one as a spinner bait and the other as a ned rig. Used the both yesterday at LBJ.

No not saying you did anything. However when I worked at Academy prices were set from corporate. And if you go online the rods never showed a sale. It made me think that those rods didn�t have the right sticker on them because it wasn�t a model update or different version. I�ve found a ton of old All star rods at Academy that get marked down when they bring the new models out.

FYI, the price tags all showed regular price but when scanned rang up at $49.99. Only for the 6'6" MH/MF.

My G Loomis rods I bought still had $189.00 on the sticker but they rang up $107.00.

There was also a yellow sticker on the rack announcing the were marked down.

I didn't get any Duckett's or BuCoo's to ring up any cheaper than the sticker price.
