I have owned both the 580P and the 580G. Same with my wife. We both prefer the 580P lenses. Between the two of us we currently own 7-8 pairs of Costas and all are 580P.

580G green mirror for me. I don't notice much difference in the weight, I'm comfortable all day with the glass. The scratch resistance is what sold me on the glass. Best shades I've ever owned.

[quote=M. Alexander]Green 580Ps work fine for me. The glass ones are probably a little more scratch resistant, but I don't care for the extra weight. [/quote

No comparison in scratch resistance. I have a 2.5 year old pair of 580G lenses I wear every day. I have been very rough on them. No significant scratches. None. Wife has a 2 year old pair of 580P lenses. They are badly scratched. She takes care of her glasses and the lenses look horrible.

Costa makes the best glass lens. Green mirror 580g is hard to beat. If you want non glass I'd go with Kaenons. Been using them 10 years and own 4-5 pair. They have a new green mirror lens also

I bought blue and green based on threads like this. Never used the blue visibility seems bad with them on the water compared to green. 580g here

Im currently using 400g in green mirror. Works well for me. I too have tried them all. Im not much of a sight fisherman so the 580g offers a diminishing return. I paid $74 for mine at steep and cheap

I've tried a lot of different sunglasses over the years(numa, wiley x, all the cheaper ones at academy and bass pro, rayban, strike king, several online only glasses) and while they all have some +'s the Costa 580 Glass lens in green mirror is what I put on when I hit the water.

580G Blue lens for fishing is what ive always heard. I can say from experience that the copper lens is not the best for boating. Makes it a little difficult with the glare off the water. The darker lenses block more reflection out.

I would say the best all around costas are the Silver Mirrow. Green mirror is a little darker in low light conditions. Silver works great for both low light conditions and sunny skies. I have both the silver and green. If it's in the early morning, later in the evening, or on cloudy days I pick my silver. If it's sunny skies I will pick my green.
