A little late with the report, but I managed a limit of fairly niced sized keepers yesterday (4-19-07). The largest was just under 17 inches and the smallest was right at 12 (looked a WHOLE lot smaller than that next to the biguns). Anyway, I will post pictures tonight when I get off work or tomorrow. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Don't blow away. Good Fishin'

Hey SlabbedSilly were you jiggin them or using minners? I had several minners out yesterday and didn't catch but one small crappie. Thinking of taken the boat this evening and maybe trying around the Island or in the north stick-ups. Any suggestions?
ofcourse this depends on the wind conditions.

big_cat, I caught every single fish on jigs. I actually got to the lake on Wed. night and tried minnows for several hours with my lanterns out. Not a single crappie (did manage 3 cats and 3 bass). I believe that almost any set of stickups are holding some fish right now (north and south side). The key is to slow down and fish thoroughly. It was by no means an easy limit (was on the water for six hours), but the fish are starting to cooperate. Now the wind cooperating is going to be another issue. Good fishin'.

Silly: THANKS for the report! Great catch. Right now the wind is blowing so hard it is unreal. Had a Sporting Clays shoot today that really sucked. Sunday, the 22nd, oughta be a WONDERFUL day on JBT. Wind only supposed to be 5-10, what a nice change.
KEEP THEM REPORTS COMIN'!
Thanks and Gig'em, Mark Fairchild

Yeah lovely wind...it was a hopeful thought thinking the wind would not blow too bad this afternoon. Thanks for the info i will sure try and jig some of the slabs out of the sticks next time i am able to get out. How come the weather never cooperates on a saturday? I think its the devel tempting me to go to the lake on sunday instead of church...he ain't going to do it this time!

Luckily (or so it seems), I have to work weekends and am able to spend a couple of days during the week fishing without the crowds or weather. I am trying to figure out how to post these pictures. I promise they are coming.

Matthew, thanks for trying to post those for me. I'll get them on here eventually, and I will downsize them. Chores kept me busy most of the day today, but hopefully I'll have them soon. Thanks again for trying Matthew. Good Fishin' and God Bless.

Great time today at JB!!! Went after work today , fished the warden's cove from 5:15 till 7:30 and caught 11 really nice slabs. All were in the deeper water away from the bank, about 5-6 ft. of water, and all really thumped the jigs like they meant it. Water temp. is really on the rise too, around 67-69 degrees in most of the cove. I would think this weekend might be a good time, but keep hearing reports of another front. Oh well, never had the sense to walk in outa the weather. Good luck to those that venture out!
God willin', I'm fishin.

Ill be going first thing in the morn w/ an open back seat if anyone is interested. They have to be patient as I am still learning the whole actual catching fish thing. If you are interested give me a buzz tonight or before 6:30 in the morn at 432-352-3739.
If nobody takes me up I will be out solo catching all of the fish!
