Tawakoni isn�t a great 6xd lake, most of the fish live in 5� or less year round. I would start by fishing around the flooded vegetation that is all over tha lake.

Ill probably end up just trolling it with the setup I have now and fish for white Bass and hybrid stripers because I don't have the right gear for bass fishing and if we do go on the boat I think the boat is too big because I don't think a pontoon boat if good for large mouth Bass fishing but thanks for the tips anyway

Catfanman, I was your story. Fished mainly sandies and catfish on EML because my friend with a boat fished that way. Finally got my own boat and started bass fishing 3 years ago. You'll never go back. I've gotten 6-7 6+lb over the last 3 years and there's nothing like a LMB jumping a foot out of the water. Or watching one hit a frog like a great white hitting a seal. My suggestion is you hook up with James Biggs a couple of times. I've gone out with him 3x now and with another guide a few times. It's stinking complicated and you need someone to show you the ropes. Tawakoni has some monster sandies and hybrids. I went a couple of times in May and I've never seen sandies that big. Got in a school and got hit on 5 straight casts with these 2lb sandies. Caught a couple of hybrids and one striper as well in the 5lb range. I'd fish them if you just want to have fun and hook up with an expert to get you going on bass fishing.

11.4 on Bob Sandlin about a month ago. Powder blue back chartreuse. Aout the only color I chunk this time of year.

7-2 citrus shad

I foul hooked a giant catfish near its tail on Ray Roberts with a 6xd. It took about 15 minutes of fighting before he came to the surface where I could see him. He was huge. The bad thing is that he saw me too and headed straight back for the bottom. After another 10 minutes or so, he pulled free and all I had was some little meat chunks on the trebles. Technically didn�t catch him but based on your username, I thought you�d enjoy the story.
