I know there has to be an engine braniac in here.

Still needing some help with the 96 400TE with 96 Evinrude 225 Vindicator. Two shops have worked on it and say it is right, but it is not.

Has new trigger, plugs/wires, power pack and carbs rebuilt. All new fuel lines everywhere, even from the tank. VRO deleted.

Boat starts right off. Idles up to 1200 when cold then settles in around 900 as it warms in neutral. In gear it is idling around 650-700 just as it should be. Idles very nicely.

Now, here is the problem. Once I am in gear and increasing engine speed slowly, it will choke up (either not enough or too much fuel???) and die around 1200 RPM. If I press the choke in while this is happening, it has no impact.

Now, if I go from idle to WOT on the hotfoot, it will very slightly hesitate and then take right off. You just can't ease into it all.

Boat runs like a champ on pad, no problems there. It is just doesn't like to be eased in to.

Below is a vid I shot last night. You can see/hear as I get close to 1200 RPM, it starts to try and die. I can save it by letting off the hot foot. Like I say, pressing in the choke will not save it.

Pickup is set correctly it appear also.

Any ideas?

Why did you change your handle? I believe this is supposed to go to a vote if you try to fool us like this.

All potential name changes need to be made public to avoid confusion.

and that's showing you the problem

its getting too much fuel. a Carb has a messed up float

Is that carb/fuel leak/drip still going on ?

ow, if I go from idle to WOT on the hotfoot, it will very slightly hesitate and then take right off.

this is because now the carbs are wide open, sucking enough air to "lean" out the over rich mixture.

Thanks for the input. The carb drip was fixed.

I think if I adjust the air/fuel screw a 1/4 turn per carb and test run until I get it resolved that will work?
