When I was a kid, I’d catch crappie all the time. Even fish baskets full of them with my friends. I rarely catch them anymore. Of course, I’m not targeting them anymore but will catch one accidentally on a senko or rattletrap. I see and hear of people fishing under the bridges and around trees. I’m guessing they’re targeting crappie and would love to do that for a fish fry. I think crappie are the second best tasting fish in the world behind walleyes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I dont fish Granbury, but if I did, I would be looking for crappie in water that is Deeper than 15ft right now. Cruise around and look for creek channel cut banks, deep brushpiles, lay down logs, and other cover that is holding crappie, deep water docks. If you are set up to night fish, try fishing flats where there is some feature that will afford a good ambush site...just make sure there are shad near the feeding flats. I guess you could try the bridges, but if you get to catching a lot of undersized fish, don’t stay long. There are a couple guys that fish Granbury, maybe one of them will offer to take you with them.

Docks is going to be your best bet, learn how to “dock shoot” and you will have baskets full again. We fished a handful of docks yesterday and caught close to 50 in hour and a half. Good luck sir.

We do like to catch all we can just mainly catch and release for next time. Send us a pm and I'll give you a tip on where to try on Granbury. I'm not telling you now else there will be 20 boats on the spot in no time. Toght lines and stay safe!!!
