....and this is why it's expensive to fish....

All you need is green pumpkin. Period. It will catch fish in any lake. It is THE MUST HAVE.

I can count on hand how many fish I've caught on green pumpkin. Absolute zero confidence in that bait. Now add flake to it like purple or blue and I'm all about it. Straight green pumpkin and I have a mental block.

Green pumpkin, wat red, black and blue. I have those three in everything. Then you expand on them. Add shad colors in flukes. Add junebug/redbug/redshad in your 7+ inch worms. I really prefer wat/gold/magic in my senkos and brush hogs but I think it's a confidence thing as are most color preferences as long as it's in the ballpark.

with the exception of watermelon red, it depends on the bait. I feel I could catch fish on a watermelon red basketball. That being said,
trick worms I use red bug and june bug,
flukes I use plum apple and watermelon seed,
jig trailers I like an orange blend in them
creatures I usually stick to W/R
beavers I will go darker, green pumpkin or sooner run. black at night
stick baits double trouble is killer, orange/grey is good too
drop shot I want blue or purple in it and will not give up any secrets
lizards, I love blue fleck, moss, black, or black with blue tail
big 10 inch worms I want a green glitter, red bug or june bug, red shad is good too

I really don't have a favorite, but any must haves would probably be towards a purple color.

When color choice comes up for worms, I always think of Bill Dance.... he always said, "any color is fine as long as its blue."

LOL that is my short list of colors.

At Fork I do better with watermelon colors, reds and purples than I do with green pumpkin although it does work out there at times.
