If I was in Abilene I would definitely go to Clyde! My PB was off Clyde 12.3 If youve never been on it you should try it. Small overlooked Great Lake. And as a bonus its not 4hrs away from home more like 30mins!
Best todate 12.03 Clyde Lake. 1995 Elite 202 Champion still floating.

In Central Texas I would say Buchanan. LBJ is too much of a madhouse in the summer. Buchanan lake record was beaten twice this spring. Multiple 10 pounders have been caught in jackpot tournaments.

Didn't know Buch was spitting out that caliber fish. I'm leaving for falcon mid week. The reports have been too good and that lake has had my number with lost fish in the past. I'm due down there.

Phantom has all the big fish you could need it. I've caught 2 bass over 9lbs in there. If you are tired of going out to phantom I would try Hords creek outside of coleman.

Toledo Bend had 2 fish over 10 pounds weighed 2 weeks ago during Sealy's big bass splash, and 6 more over 10 pounds since then. I was told yesterday that there were also 2 more over 10 pounds that were caught but did not qualify for a free replica since the fish have to be alive so they can be released to qualify for a free replica.

lot's of nice slots caught everyday at Fork. A slot is anything between 16 and 24 inches.

save up your time off and go to Comedero in Mexico...my buddy and I fished 6 days in April and caught over 600 bass....we had 57 over 6lbs,29 over 7lbs,6 over 8lbs and 3 over 9 lbs....been a serious bass fisherman for 0ver 60 years and never had a week like that....
