I fished a derby in ETex last weekend, there were 2 boats that had no problems with fish care and who’s fish were lively at weigh in when others had fish dying left and right. Take a guess what the common denominator in both boats was. The fish were literally jumping around in the Livewell.

95 Blazer we fished in yesterday was same way. Ice and left pumps on all day long. Zero issues

"Poor fish care"? Pretty sure those are all iced down with the only "care" remaining is a filet knife. Assuming all those kids are in for a fun fish fry that evening. "Waste" will always be open for debate.

Yes "poor fish care"......but it looks and sounds like some was intentional.....release to the grease!....if that's what you want have a crappie, bream or catfish tournament.... that's my opinion!

I was there, and stood and watched that "revive tank" for quite awhile....Fish care had VERY LITTLE to do with the majority of that fish KILL from what I saw with my own eye's...those kids you see in that pic were the ones instilled with the "care" of releasing the fish back into lake. But what they did was carry them around playing with them, getting in NO hurry to return them to the water. I too saw the adults putting MANY fish that were ALIVE into those cooler's

The fishermen were NOT the problem. Sure, there will almost always be some lost...but 2 big cooler's full? Not hardly

Didn't say it was fisherman....usually happens at the weigh in.....part of fishing tournaments....especially smaller tournaments in hot weather. Just part of it, but Caddo is pumping out some nice fish!! Let's go catch um!
