Not the same fish. That's some world class arm extension in that second pic though.

Either way I'd say your good at catching 7 lb'ers.

Nice job. She may have been returning home from a recent tournament release. It takes them a couple of days to make the trip back home sometimes if it is a long distance. No one is sure if these larger fish that are more apt to make the journey faster than smaller Bass, ever stop to feed along the way. If this is the same fish and she was up in the shallows then she probably was back in her original area when you caught her the second time.
Anyway; glad you saved her life. Thanks for sharing.

Caught a decent size bass on Lewisville last Thursday out deep. Yesterday I caught another one that looks really similar up shallow about a mile away. Between the bottom of the tail and the small sized dorsal fin, I think it might be the same fish. Same fish. Same lower lobe on tail fin, same short dorsal fin, and #3 there is a vertical scar about 2/3 the way back on the gill plate.

the pectoral fins look like they are shaped differently between the 2 photos, not sure if that is because they are different fish or the same fish being held a different way. also the belly appears to be a little larger in the first photo than the 2nd. The fish's belly i mean, yours looks the same size in both this would make sense if the female was caught in deep water and prespawn; then caught shallow while probably spawning therefore laying eggs?
Thanking the lord for another day on the water

Nice fish or fishes. I cant tell. One of the first fish I caught at Fayette was skinny and one eyed. Several years later I caught another one eyed bass in the same spot but he had put on a little weight.

A friend of mine has a 35 acre lake up near Paris. I realize this is a pond compared to Lewisville. He bought 12 bass from CB last spring. He weighed, measured & tagged them before releasing them into his lake.
He has caught 10 of the 12 in less than a year already. Don't know what this says about the aggressiveness of the CB fish but his lake was already full of fish before he added the CB fish.
So I believe we do catch the same fish from time to time.
