Does a body else hate flourocarbon line? I have tried every brand on the market and cannot find one that I like.

Nope. Looks like auto correct got you on the title.

I don't care for it either. I use it sparingly for leaders in certain situations. However, I prefer straight braid and/or mono if possible.

No, I love flourocarbon, but I am of the opinion that if you are trying to get cheap line just stick with Mono. I dont know what kind of floruro you have tried but I personally wouldnt go any lower than Seaguar Invizx or P-Line 100% Flouro dollar level.

Seaguar Invizx is the bees knees! I understand that much of fishing is personal preference but I dont see how you cant manage flourocarbon. I never have an issue with memory, line breaking, backlashes, none of that stuff.

If you can't find em wind em.

Seaguar InvizX -- been using it for several years & doesn't give me any trouble. What do you not like about fluoro?

99% of my fishing is done with fluorocarbon line. I actually enjoy using fluorocarbon.

I resisted using fluoro for a long time, got scared off by all the horror stories...poor knot strength, terrible line memory, brittle, etc...but I also kept hearing everyone say how great it was. Finally decided what the hey, I'll give it a try. I use the Uni knot for most of my hooks and lures, haven't had a knot break...yet. Kinda leery of using a Palomar knot though. And the heavier test lines do have more memory than the lighter stuff. But if I stretch it a little every so often, it's manageable. Seems like all the good things I heard about are true after all

If you can get the knot to the hook down (I use a Kreh knot to the hook) and then learn how to tie to braid (alberto knot) you get the lower price and castability of braid with the "invisibility" and "sinking" of the flouro. The knots took some time to adapt to but now that I am doing braid to flouro, I won't be going back to straight mono or flouro (except for my straight mono topwater combo and light rig).

My phone auto correct always spells it "Floral Carbon"

I have a Love/Hate relationship with it. I like the lower stretch properties of Flo vs. mono. It definitely helps you feel the bottom and the bait better but it does have more memory. It also sinks so you can't fish a topwater effectively on it so I always have to have One More rod & reel with me when I go.

I have gained tremendous confidence in the Albright knot joining heavy braid to heavy Flo in recent trips. I am tying 25# Flo to 65# braid. Last trip out I hung up two jigs in the rocks and pulled like CRAZY to break the line. Both times the line broke down near the jig and not at the Albright. I was impressed.

There seem to be a lot of threads on here and other forums about the downside of Flouro. I just don't understand them to be honest.

I would say I fish more than the average fisherman, at least twice a week and tournaments every other weekend for 6 months out of the year. I buy 5 1,000 yard spools of fluorocarbon each year. I buy braid every other year or every three years. I don't buy any other line.

What exactly don't you like about Fluoro?

I have read about line conditioners, I don't use them. A lot of different knots out there, I use the palomar, without any issues. I don't have any knot failures but I do tie it the same way every time and I see a lot of people tying improperly. When it's tied correctly wetting the knot is not really necessary but I will wet it maybe 50% of the time. Larger line diameters I wet and smaller I don't but that's not a hard fast rule for me.

I only buy Seaguar but I've heard great things about Sunline and other brands.

10, 12 and 15 I use Invizx
17 and 20 I use Abrazx

That's it, no magic, no special knot, no line conditioners, I don't "change it frequently" but will change it when it gets down on the spool after a ton of use. I have about 30 combos with different brands of rods and reels and they all fish it about the same, so no special equipment being used either.

I would be interested in hearing what you don't care for about it because it's a head scratcher to me to try to understand what the problem is?
