Good advice. That little step doesn't give you much to mount to under it. I have one shooting thru the hull for a back up and one mounted just a hair lower than the pad that I use all the time. Outside the hull gives you a small amount better picture but through the hull will be fine.

I have a 998 c SI and same deal once I get out of the hole I loose it.
