I use Cattle cubes 20% to bait the hole.I start with a mesh laundry bag from Dollar Tree and about 10 or 15 LBS per bag leave it alone for about three days or so if the cats or working on it the bag will be M/T if not then move the bag. After I get them coming in with the bag then I just come back in and Chum with cubes or sour grain and fish that spot until the bite slows. If the bite slows then as I leave I chum again with cubes or refill my mesh bag.

My guess is that there is not a sanctuary area such as a creek channel or drop off nearby. They won't just appear. Chum just concentrates them to a spot where you are fishing. They have to be living in the area already.

I use my wire fish basket if I'm chumming with range cubes. But I don't know how effective that is, I'm thinking they may dissolve faster in it.
I've always heard of using burlap sacks. I need to get one. The laundry bag idea sounds interesting, wonder if the cubes will last longer in that.
In my basket the cubes are completely dissolved within 6-8 hours if not less, is that normal or should they be lasting longer?

What if the creek bed is in 6-8 foot of lake water? Is there a chance the catfish will be there?

plenty of blues and channels and maybe flats will come to a cove 5to 15 ft.off the lake .Ido best dusk to dawn. If you feed on a semi regular schedule you can up your odds.

I only get to fish on the weekends so that's aboutas regular as I can do but bought some pretty good burlap sacks. Maybe the cubes will last from week to week. This weekend will be my first time so trial and error for awhile. I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes. Thanks for the tips!!!

On LOP you can go out into the timber in 15' of water and bait them up pretty easily. I usually pick 3 or 4 spots. bait 1 with a half a bucket of cubes then move to another spot, bait it ect. When I have the spots baited I move back to the first spot and fish. When it slows down I movew on to the next. Works very well here
