I like them on calm days throwing it in nasty stuff up shallow.

When they are in deep timber eating crappie and shad

Tool. Your a fool if you don't incorporate them into your arsenal.

One of the most fish catching techniques there is.

One of my confidence baits that I always have tied on...love it in deep grass!

I use my regular skipping style jigs. I can swim them out of the bushes or work the roots with the same jig.

GREAT lure to have in your arsenal. Catch a LOT of big fish on them on my neighbors 30 acre lake. Also catch a lot of bigger fish in public waters as well. Hope this helps.

You should always have one tied on...JS..

Last year was my best year for big bass, most came On a swim jig with a paddle tail swimbait.

I choose a swim jig over a bladed one, most of the time.

I've been tinkering with a swim jig the last few weeks. My hook up ratio is 0, but they are knocking the day lights out of it. I can't figure out if I'm reeling to fast or what? When they hit it it's an awesome thump, I'd just like to see the fish. Anybody got any tips to help hook ups?

Kicker 16, I ran into that equation once on the local lake. You had to count 1001, 100 and set the hook. Do not know why, but that was only 1 time of fishing them. The rest of the time they have been eating it pretty well. Average fish size has been in the 4 to 6 lb range on most of the fish I am catching, so that might have something to do with it as well, dunno. Wish I could help more. Hope this helps. Over the last month I'm rotating through a natural color 1/2 ounce 6th Sense swim jig with a Keitech paddletail trailer, black/blue Hackney 3/8 ounce swim jig with a baby brush hog trailer, soft plastics and a Chatterbait. I'm on the same spot with the same fish and the biggest have come on the larger jig but then completely stop eating eat so I have to stay with it and rotate baits and/or slow down if they're not eating the bigger bait. I definitely believe in them.

I assume you have added a trailer, if you add say a 4-5 inch paddle tail and get one or two short strikes CUT the skirt as short as the hook... you will not get a short strike again...

I had never caught any fish on chatter baits, then one day I felt for sure I had two short strikes in a row, I trimmed the skirt and next cast fish on.. Every time I lost my chatter in some rocks that day and tied on a new one I got a short strike then trimmed skirt and got fish after trimming it.

Ive since trimmed all my skirts.
