Thanks Andrew and Curtis for the replies.  Curtis: Fish are getting more active each day. Early May all the way to Mid October should be really great!  As for fishing the Sabinal Valley,so far twice! Did well both days.

Very nice post and some super fish. Love the scenery. What is the most common sunfish in the canyon? Also how would you rate the Rio bite to other areas?

Thanks Gitter for the reply! As for the most popular sunfish in the canyon I would have to say the Bluegill followed closely by the Longear!  As for the Rio bite comparison to other area's/water bodies? I would rate the Rio bite good behind Dunlap and the south central area! Just my two cents.

Thanks WillieRip and SK. for the replies. WillieRip: Yes Sir there are some BIG ONES in the Canyon! Great fighters on ultralight tackle.  Also very GOOD eating.  SK. The Nueces Canyon is a very BEAUTIFUL place to fish! One of my favorite places to fish.
