Buy a pass from City of Lufkin. Bring your own water to fish on weekends haha

Buy a pass from City of Lufkin. Bring your own water to fish on weekends haha sounds like im going to rayburn ! pass ?

Its managed by the city of Lufkin. You need to purchase a pass to go. Its about to get pounded after that sharelunker was caught...Nice lake. Plenty of fish. Clean water. Deep grass.

Fished it once years back. Went during the week, we caught fish. I bet it gets crowded tiny lake

It's been packed for years. 10 years ago you would see a couple boats a week. That's why we never turned in any 13+. Just my friends and I had 3 over 13. It's still decent just tremendous pressure. It's 600 acres and half the shoreline is the concrete dam.

The internet strikes again. I started fishing Kurth over 20 years ago when I lived in Nacogdoches. It was run by I think Champion and there was a horsepower restriction. You had to sign in and pay a fee at the gate, near the caretaker's house. Fun little lake, lots of big gators. There are lots of fun little lakes all over the state, and there are probably 13 pound bass that people wouldn't have to drive hours to try to catch after they heard someone else caught one.

Didn't help that Phil Marks and Jordan Lee filmed a show that aired couple weeks ago from Kurth and were pulling melons out of there. The flock will definitely start migrating that way for a while. Lufkin should probably put a boat limit on there if one does not already exist.

I was on my way to fish Palestine the other day and just as I got out of town I realized I'd forgotten my wallet. Went home got wallet, thought about fishing somewhere new, and headed for Kurth. Didn't realize what was involved to get in until I spoke to the guy on lawnmower. He told me I would have to get a permit in town and didn't think I would be allowed with a kayak. I went to Naconiche instead.    Close but no cigar.
