I feel the same way. The only reason I fish it so much is because the boat ramp is less than 5 minutes from the house. Went out yesterday and broke down, had to be pulled in. Went back today and caught 2 whites and two crappie. This lake has a ton of pressure. Maybe I should fish Whitney more.

What do yall think is the best bass fishing lake within 1-1.5 hours of Waco?

Like Txfireman said, its my home lake, 10 mins from my house. Ive had good days and tough days there. I just have way more experience there than Belton or Whitney, neither of which has been awesome for me. Ive had my best luck with smallies on Belton. Whitney is just huge and Ive only explored a few parts of it, with mediocre results. Honesty though Id have to fish them both 10-20 times to accurately assess.

Id drive to find some easier/better/different fishing. But Id just as soon strike out 10 mins from home than strike out 100 mi from home. :-)

Whitney and stillhouse are great lakes. Stillhouse is really coming back and Whitney was a secret for a while but not now. Tradinghouse is pretty good when the lake is full. Brazos river has some good fish in it but can be hard to catch at times. I know a guy that catches monsters out of aquilla but most struggle. Belton has lots of fish but can be dink fest. Limestone has lots of good quality fish but not a lot of fish over 7 pounds

Not sure if y'all follow the South 40 but a boat caught a 10 pounder on Waco this weekend.

Waco has always been good for us . It can be tough , we always grind it out and it pays off .
