Last time I was there, WP was a hole with no water. I'd like to see it sometime this summer.

Fished Wolpack last Saturday morning. My buddy (deps on here) caught a couple 6 lb females on beds in Wolf Pack. They were 18-19 inches. And they are two year old fish! Some nice milfoil in the lake, unlike Bell which has no grass. Having learned so much with the Bell, water quality, culling and forage...I really believe Mike will grow a new PW state record and perhaps much larger in Wolfpack or the Bell. That is a very special strain of pure Floridas with extremely rapid growth rates. If TPWD were smart, they'd be buying fish from Mike for their OWR efforts, and for breeding and stocking purposes.

Ken sent me the pic of that 12.1 that was stocked as a fingerling of Mike's just 5 years ago yesterday. That is freaking crazy genetics.

There's another one that was 14+ from the same stocking, I've got the photo but don't post from work. If you want to see it PM me your phone # Chris. I've got your brother's but don't have yours. It's ok to post here if you want to.

Let's see where the new state record comes from (private waterbody or public). TPWD isn't too shoddy with its bass, the best scientifically confirmed grew to 8 pounds, 4 years after stocking as a fingerling. If I remember right, the average ShareLunker takes about 10-12 years to get to 13 pounds. I wouldn't be surprised if the new state record comes from a lake other than Camelot and La Perla. Also, it's possible faster growing fish may burn out earlier (sometimes the tortoise wins the race). You're right though, state and private ventures may be able to work together to get the new record.

I dunno 786. We as anglers don't do a very good job of culling bass. We can't control how much and how varied their diets are. We can't control water quality and we can't control predators. Camelot and La Perla Jalisco do all of that and more. Bell had fish to almost 17 pounds in 10 years and Wolfpack looks like it's going to do so much more quickly. I haven't talked to Dr. Schwarz lately, but I'd imagine he's seeing the same type of results at Jalisco. The neat thing with Gary's deal, he put over 1,000 pounds of SAL offspring back into Falcon recently, and will be doing so for years to come. I'm not saying TPWD is shoddy. They're the best in the world. But they can't control all of the variables I mentioned, above.

I just sent Chris G photos of that 14+ from last year. The fish was either 4 or 5 years old and came from a CB fingerling with a 15.50 momma. Hopefully he'll post them here for us.

I don't care where the records come from...I just like seeing fish like this one! This was last March and the fish had been stocked as a fingerling just 4-5 years earlier. It weighed more than 14# as Fouz said. Mike's genetics just look different than any other fish I've seen. I'd love to see TPWD start working with him.

Here's another one to blow your dress up. This fish was caught two days ago at a high fence ranch near Center TX. She went 12.1 pounds. It was a CB fingerling stocked Five years ago into a lake that is now six years old.
