Nice story!
Glad your lures don't break on small 9 lbers. Thank you. That is too funny! A benefit of having Lake Fork as the proving grounds. The Thumper is one of those baits that I had to myself for a while before my wife talked me into selling them. Back then, I only threw them on braid and had a few good ones to test the components. With fluoro and a good glass rod, I don't worry too much about component failure. I have a lot of confidence in it right now. It's my go-to, if you will, but it is like any other bait... situational. Lake Fork has set up well for it this Spring.

thanks for the story and again congrats Thank you. I forgot to respond to your post earlier. Waypoints are a negotiable add-on for the Phoenix. The math says +$10K  Thinking twice about letting it go now. I'm really comfortable in that boat. It's been the best decision I've made on a big-ticket item.

Thanks buddy. That first trip I took with you and the lessons I've learned from fishing with you on Palestine changed the way I approached fishing. You also caught the first giant that I know of on the Thumper.

I really like your request to TPWD to allow a bag of fingerlings go. I can not imagine how much joy that will likely bring you to release that fish and her babies back into Lake Fork.
Nicely done all the way around from bait, to catch, to contract.
