There have been a few. Highland High Scholl in Albuquerque, NM.

The most notable is Mike Judge of Beavis&Butthead fame. The school that is drawn at the beginning of the show is actually Highland. They also filmed parts of Logan the XMan movie at the school as well as Terminator movies and TV show at the school.

He is one that made it in the pros. Jeromy Burnitz and Andrew Cashner also made MLB.

Roy Harris also fought for the heavy weight championship against Floyd Patterson. He didn't win it.

To us jaded New York football fans, the 1969 Super Bowl Champions Jets were IT. Heavy Texas flavor on that team with Winston Hill, Pete Lammons, John Elliott, Jim Hudson, George Sauer and the inimitable Don Maynard from some place called the University of Texas at El Paso. Huh??
