![](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/usergals/2018/02/full-93588-202592-image.jpg) I'm just starting to get over having surgery from fishing related issues. Never thought that fishing could be so dangerous and expensive. $28,000 for this scar. I had the same surgery on my left hand to release "trigger finger" My left middle finger would lock down when I made a fist and I would have to grab it and POP it back up into place every time. Is that the same surgery you had?

I take three Advil Ibuprofen Liqui-Gels minis twice a day and my elbow held up yesterday while catching over 30 bass up to 5 1/2 lbs. Took about two weeks before the pain was completely gone. I also use an elbow brace (cheap sleeve from Academy) some days if I need to. Also ice it down for 30 mins every morning and evening during the first two weeks.

Put that band on and tighten the hell out of it! Rest it as much as you can. I dealt with it 2 years ago right in the middle of bed fishing. And it was my flipping arm. It sucked but the band helped a lot along with Advil. It is a pain but finally went away.

Going thru it right now have not see a doc yet just using compression sleeve some days and compression band some days. Go see Dr. Singhal, he real good. Orthopedic Associates of FM. Saw him today said classic tennis elbow and gave me the shot and a sheet of exercises. I had a cortisone shot in my wrist years ago that was way worse this was not all that bad. Thanks for the tip ![thumb thumb](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cup.gif)

I didn't say I paid $28,000. My part, after insurance, was $1200.
....but, the hospital is now calling me asking what is taking my insurance so long to pay. Lol. I said "I dunno". You guys called them and had pre approval on the surgery and I paid what I was told to pay... in advance on my debit card.
So......it might actually wind up costing me the whole amount, unless they figure things out or a lawyer gets involved. I would have dealt with the pain before I ever spent that kind of money on a snip fix.

Always go see a doctor, and a good one. I tried cortisone, physical therapy, then PRP, therapy again, and none helped. Finally had surgery and the tendon had a lateral tear that would never have healed on its own. It's great now but lost 18 months where I could not fish at all. PRP works if damage is not too bad but it still takes several weeks or even months to heal. Wife had to do PRP and took about 6 months to heal fully.

Had the same pain in my elbow ( fishing and years of batting practice pitching ) . I tried everything except surgery . Eventually researched tons of info on re-building my immune system . It took longer than surgery , but eventually solved my elbow pain and several other issues at the same time . Had a blood test done recently and compared to 2007 numbers ( pre-diet change ) every single blood marker was significantly improved . Never felt better .

I had tennis elbow real bad about 10 years ago. Went to the Dr and got the cortisone shot. Helped for only a month. Went back to Dr he asked what is causing the pain and I said fishing. He said stop. I thought he was crazy but it got so bad I couldn't flip at a all. I took an entire winter off (5 months or so). 10 years later and it still doesn't hurt and I fish a lot more now than I did then. I still have that tennis elbow brace in the boat, just in case.

The latest thing is called TeneX. This might be a good option and most insurance companies will cover it this over PRP.

Did the cortisone shot in elbow and wrist on right side and wrist on left. Pain free thank God! I went to my Ortho a few years ago to get one (it worked). In the waiting room was one of our local PBR riders. He looked like five guys beat him up. I asked him "Dang Mike what happened?" He said "Oh, a bull stomped me". He asked " What are you here for? " I kinda looked at the floor and said "Too much fishing"
