![](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/usergals/2018/02/full-93588-202592-image.jpg) I'm just starting to get over having surgery from fishing related issues. Never thought that fishing could be so dangerous and expensive. $28,000 for this scar. Cheap price to pay to fish.....looks like you been catchin'.... ![thumb thumb](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cup.gif)

https://tenexhealth.com/ I had mine treated 6 yrs ago and have had no problems since. Mine was in bad shape from cutting meat for 30 years and fishing 100 days a week. Two weeks for rest then 4 weeks of therapy and problem gone. Dr BRADFORD J. BELLARD, M.D. @ TEXAS SPORTS MEDICINE in Frisco is who did my procedure.

last winter i had tendonitis in my elbow. i bought one of these Brace and wore it pretty much 24x7 for about 3 months. It allowed me to fish, with some pain but not near as bad as when i wasn't wearing it. After about 3 months the tendonitis settled down and i haven't worn it since. The key is you cinch that thing down in the right spot and it takes the pressure off that tendon where it connects to the elbow. Its not a quick fix, but it will let you be active while your body heals itself.

lift weights, strengthen the muscles around the joint, pain goes away. No magic pills or shots. Just my $.02 and what worked for me.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Ive had it in both hands and the knots in hands also, Ive had surgeries on it all and its all returned.
The cortizone shots worked for the tennis elbow and lasted about 3 months thats what Im back to doing.

Hurts,,,doesn't it.
I've had three or four shots in my elbow in the last 30-40 years. Also had them in my shoulder. Shots don't stop the pain forever but they will work for a few years.
I have become pretty good with a spinning rod, and use it for all of my wackys, drop shots, and jerk baits.. Also the two handed cast on my casting reels help. I pretty much fish low and slow now, and its a lot less wear and tear on the elbow and shoulder. I don't even use deep crank baits, A-rigs only. Its just less pain. it may change your fishing habits a bit but it also might increase your bites. Good luck

get a good arm brace from your doctor and it will help. mine started after spending most of a year punching with a heavy rod and heavy weight. the brace really helps.

My brother battled it a few years ago. DR told him to use the compression brace, didn't fix it. Shot cortisone in there multiple times, relieved the pain for a few weeks then it came back. He went to a pain specialist and had prp done twice and that fixed it. No issues since.

thanks, just purchased that Clinically fit product. Both my doctor and my chiropractor told me to NOT exercise it until it's healed. Really sucks getting old.

I had tennis elbow so bad once I had to give up fishing. My doctor recommended I go to Baylor rehab in Mesquite. They really know what they're doing. It took 2 sessions a week for 4 weeks. That was in !997 and haven't had a problem since. Holding a 1 oz. weight off a 7'6" rod is what cause mine. Since then I keep my elbow by my side when flipping and use only a 1/2 oz. weight.
