Yes the Falcon striper boats were ugly but they weren't meant to be "pretty" only functional. The 'new' Falcon Bass boats have an appeal to certain fisherman. Talked with some guys recently who said they are fast and handle rough water. I haven't ridden in one but I am skeptical when someone makes that claim. IMHO nothing handles (handled) rough seas like a Champion hull.

Looks like a Blazer to me, which was a Bullet copy.

They definitely aren't the ugliest bassboat design out there.

I helped my local Merc guy at the Houston boat show in January with the Falcon boats. He had two there, a 195 and the 215. The unique features are the rod boxes hinged at the front and the rear deck area that opens fully from side-to-side. I may be wrong, but the rod boxes may have an option for traditional hinges. That would not be enough to sell me on one. I do like, and I hope some other manufacturers take a look at the way that Falcon did the battery compartment. That I like.

Last year on Toledo I rode with Brett Pruett in his 215 as his marshal. From the passenger seat it is hard for me to say it is or is not a great riding boat, so much is the driver and the conditions. As a large long legged guy I found the leg room a bit tight for me, but not a show stopper.

At the end of the day I will keep what I have.

After all they are all a hole in the water to throw money in!

I've driven/ridden in the 205 and 215, amazing boats all around! 99" beam, huge casting deck, makes the V20 look small, but much more stable than a Legend. The rod locker is surprisingly very very functional. Rods don't fall of them, they tilt up with the locker, and is more stable than the rods falling to the side toward the gunnel like a traditional rod locker on a boat. They're not the fastest, but the 215 was a Cadillac in rough water. I ended up going with a Phoenix, but only because the resale and stability of the brand worried me. After seeing how popular they are becoming, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one next time I'm in the market.
